How it works

Three steps to a clean month

You keep doing the work. We keep the record of it.

  1. 1A 20-minute call. How many accounts, roughly how many transactions, what software if any, and how far behind. You get a flat monthly price before you commit to anything.
  2. 2Statements and receipts, your way. Photos from your phone, a shoebox dropped at the office, or a shared folder. We never ask you to sort them first.
  3. 3Your summary by the 10th. Income, expenses by category, net, unpaid invoices and anything we could not place. Ask about any line and get the receipt behind it.
Where the work happens

Your records stay in your own file

Kept in your own folder on our own equipment in Lewiston. Nothing about your business is uploaded to a chatbot or a shared cloud workspace. We work in Xero when you want software, and in plain records when you do not.

Questions

What new clients ask

How much does bookkeeping cost?

A flat monthly price, set after the 20-minute call and based on how many accounts and transactions you have. No hourly surprises. Catch-up work is quoted by the month of records before we begin.

Do I have to switch software?

No. We work in Xero and can keep plain records for businesses that do not want software at all. If you want Xero, we set it up and show you how to read it.

Do you do my taxes?

Bookkeeping and tax preparation are separate services. The office at 272 Main St also houses Liberty Tax, so your year-end package can be handed over in person. We give no tax advice as part of bookkeeping.

Can you fix books that are years behind?

Yes. Catch-up and cleanup is most of what new clients come in with. Bring statements and whatever receipts you have; we will tell you what is missing and what can be reconstructed.

Do you work with businesses outside Lewiston-Auburn?

Yes. Statements and receipts come by shared folder or phone photos, and the monthly summary comes back by email, so we serve clients anywhere in Maine.

Do you do payroll?

Not yet. We will point you to a payroll service that fits and record its reports in your books.
